Silicon Valley News - October

The world is now communicating remotely. We have 3 current examples of some of the initiatives we are pursuing – all are remote, all are relevant and all are worth noting:

  1. The WSX Club – You’ve heard plenty about this. From last month we reported that we completed our introductory webinars and were about to launch. Well, we are, but a bit later this Fall to make three important changes to our platform: (i) we are revamping the WSX Club website to include direct application for membership, (ii) Club members will immediately get access to our curated database of over 5,000 active startup investors matched to members by profile and interest; and (iii) as part of our XFund we will include an IPO path for the select few members that are qualified for the XFund and want to file for public trading in the US. This is pretty heady stuff, its never been done in one platform and we have delayed our launch to get this right. We’ll continue to give you updates.

  2. The Cal State Monterey Bay 2020 Startup Investment & Community Capital Expo – Our very own partner Tom Armstrong who heads our Santa Cruz Office spoke at this online event this month – and the firm was a sponsor for our second year running. Check out this link from a television broadcast on KSBW regarding the event:  https://www.ksbw.com/article/csumbs-virtual-startup-investment-expo-aims-at-inclusion-of-minority-owned-businesses/34196703. And click on https://www.siccmonterey.com/ for details on the event website.

  3. Starting Up & RIght: Conversations with a Startup CFO – Later this month Mark White will be featured on an episode of “Starting Up & Right” which is web video series for startup founders discussing startups from a CFO/finance perspective, hosted by Keating Consulting. Check out the first 2 episodes here:   https://youtu.be/QR3ohIhyhk4 and https://youtu.be/lVsu9jog0Hg

That’s a wrap for this month. Stay healthy and busy – and as always thanks for your business!

Best Regards from the White Summers Teams in Silicon Valley, Santa Cruz, Portland, Bend & Budapest.
